The meeting.

I think our meeting went pretty well. Several of the people who have agreed to be part of the committee were not able to be there but there were some new faces.
Very exciting. Later today I will be posting a list of positions we need help with. Please consider donating some time today! This will be a wonderful gift to your community!

There were a few residents there that live around East Side Park and they were able to voice their concerns. They came back into the meeting after most people had left and we spent an extended period of time talking.
I tried to explain that the location for the Park is not set in stone and as it turns out the decision at the Park and Recreation committee meeting was to explore another park near downtown, that to be honest we had not considered very much.
We are still moving forward with our plans at East Side and will look at the other park, although we feel it will likely not be an option.  Still, we are perfectly happy to explore all of our options and it would not be prudent to move forward without exploring that park too.

Additionally,  should we move forward with East Side park, the committee would like to meet with all of the neighbors in the area of the park, and anyone else who may have concerns, to address those concerns and discuss them.

No matter what, we know we have an amazing concept and project that will strengthen community bonds, increase visitors to the city and likely revenue to businesses, and allow for a play area for ALL ages and ALL abilities to play.

If you have a question regarding the park, the concept, or how you can help. Please call 873-3562 or email stoughtondreampark@gmail.com .
